ITN Source says it has completely re-designed its ratecard introducing what it calls "a pioneering and simple new pricing structure." ITN says it will soon roll out the second phase of the company's recently re-branded website that will have an e-commerce functionality for purchasing footage.
It says the "straightforward new method of pricing will allow customers the convenience and flexibility of self-servicing their own orders." The ratecard includes new categories associated with digitised material which is acquired via on-line download for use in New Media products such as the Internet, mobiles and presentations. Such material ordered and delivered online, encoded in sub-broadcast quality, will be licensable for periods of one month and one, five and ten years with rates ranging from £240 (approx $450) per minute to £600 ($1150). Usage excludes advertising.
ITN deals with the on-line territory issue by having it dictated by "the main market for the website or platform. For example," it says "a city newspaper would require only one country rights. However large international websites or brands should select World rates."
Other parts of the new ratecard show traditional areas of display, education, internal corporate, retail, external corporate, broadcast, theatrical, advertising and all media categories. Discounts are shown for quantity licensing.
