ITN Mini Programmes Take MIPCOM Mobile Award
A short-form series "On This Day in History" series from the UK's ITN has won a prestigious Mipcom Mobile TV award in the category for the "Best Repurposed Content from Exisiting Film or TV Property". The 90-second video features for every day of the year tap the ITN Source holding of world news from newsreels and tv news libraries dating back to 1896. Raw footage was used to produce the mini programmes with added graphics and new scripts. The 365 features - including one extra for leap years - is updated every year and covers world issues exampled by the Tsunami disaster, the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the invention of the supermarket trolley.
