ITN Source Takes Digital Browsing On-line
London-headquartered ITN Source has launched what it calls "an advanced new digital website" allowing users to browse-view and download review footage online. The site also includes a 'Concepts' section aimed at the creative community, designed to provide "an accessible and inspiring" system for navigating ITN Source's extensive catalogues to find content for the creative ideas. Several hundred hours of recently digitised content from ITN Source's 700,000 hours of material is initially on-line and, unlike on the website of its main competitor, BBC Motion Gallery, many clips have accompanying sound. The ITN video is embedded within the shotlists, accompanied by keyframes and a 'slider' to set date ranges in the advanced search page. ITN says over 10 hours of new digital material is now being added everyday, including news content from ITN and Reuters.
