| The National Film Boards Stock Footage Collection comprises over 4,000 hours of footage of Canada and the world, dating from 1895 to the present. Our holdings are renowned for both their historical value and the quality of the film originals. The collection includes images of both world wars, the Depression,industrialization, scientific discoveries, rural and urban lifestyles, wildlife and a treasure of film footage on the Arctic, both archival and contemporary. We also have hundreds of hours of footage shot in high definition. The collection is constantly growing as new shots are added daily.
