| Covering 1935 to 1967, Time Incs newsreel and documentary series The March of Timeᆴ chronicled the events of our lives. The March of Timeᆴ separated itself from competitors using its trademark pictorial journalism, mixing highly-produced, long-form, documentary-style stories with some dramatic re-enactments. These award-winning motion pictures recorded global events and brought them to movie theaters, and later to television sets, around the world.
The collection contains historic footage dating back to 1913. Through the decades, essays covered now-timely topics on Iran, Palestine, Pakistan and Berma along with lighter stories on teenage girls, the fashion world and the laugh industry. We are also looking beyond the documentary series, digging into March of Time-produced corporate-sponsored commercial and industrial films dating back to the 1930s, government and Navy training films, as well as coverage of the Democratic and Republican conventions of the 1940s and 1950s.
