Hillary Clinton 'Kitchen' Advertisment Despite the controversy over her earlier anti-Obama television advertisment using stock footage the 3 am Phone Call ,(see our previous news story here) where the little girl featured grew up and became an Obama supporter, Clinton's campaign has aired another advertisment in the USA, almost entirely featuring archival stock footage.
The 30 second spot, called Kitchen , features a series of clips of B/W stock footage from history, starting with the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and moving through Pearl Harbour, Kennedy and the Cold War, before blooming into colour with the 1970s oil shocks. More recent events such as the fall of the Berlin Wall, Osama bin Laden, and Hurricane Katrina appear, followed by modern stock footage of war and economic decline.
The final punch line before footage of Hillary Clinton campaigning, is a quote from President Harry Truman: If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. The implication is that Hillary has the toughness required to be President of the USA. It is interesting that all of the US primary campaigns are using stock footage extensively to get their message across.
