Space Archive Gets The High Definition Treatment Around 150 hours of classic footage from NASA's Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space missions have been restored for high-definition television by the Discovery Channel for a new three-part documentary series "When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions," due to premiere in June. A Blu-ray DVD of the series is due for release the following month. The restored film footage and audio tapes have been presented to NASA at a US Capitol ceremony. NASA says it will make the high-definition library, which has been fully catalogued, available to the public as well as researchers.
