Olympus River, Lycia
Date
2011 AD (C21st AD)
Video description

Olympus was part of the ancient region of Lycia. The ancient city of Olympus is situated at a point where the Toros Mountains descend most steeply onto the coast. Olympus was located inside a deep valley created by Akcay, the Olympus creek, which cradled the entire city and merged with the sea. It divided the city into two halves. Therefore the city had two riverbanks. The river itself (or the creek) empties into the Mediterranean Sea via a wide beach.
