Release of a saved Common Coot

Buy video

While a was returning back from the gym on the Lent bank of Drava river in Maribor, Slovenia, I stumbled on a black water bird Common Coot (Fulica atra) from the rail (Rallidae) family that has frozen to the ground. After I lifted her, I noticed that she had a limp on one foot so I took her home for a rehabilitation process. Two days later I released it since the veterinarian replied to my email telling me that it is forbidden to feed and assist wild bird especially since it was a season of bird viruses.
