An amusing video has emerged from India of a UK tourist attempting to catch a snake that was found in his hotel room.

The footage, captured in Jaipur on Saturday night, shows the man trying to use a plastic bag to capture the snake, only for it to evade his clutches.

Despite continually trying to keep everyone in the room calm, the man can be seen - and heard - struggling with the slippery reptile.

According to the filmer, who stood on the bed throughout the proceedings, they had just come home from a local bar when they discovered the unexpected guest.

"Chaos ensued," they wrote online.

"We had to eventually wake our hostess and she removed it with a bucket and broom. We're still not sure whether it was venomous though it's unlikely."
