Cheeky George Michael-inspired "Sexual Freedom Party"

Dozens of people attended a George Michael-inspired "Sexual Freedom Party" on Hampstead Heath in London on Saturday.

It marked the 19th anniversary of the day Michael was arrested after a “lewd act” in a public toilet in Miami and also the 50th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality.

The event was organised by Queer Tours of London and Camden LGBT Forum.

Organisers insisted it was not an orgy, although they did hand out condoms to party-goers.

Hampstead Heath is well-known in London as a place for "cruising" for sex. George Michael spoke candidly about going there himself for casual encounters "a handful of times a year."

There was an outpouring of grief when the singer died last December at his home in Goring-on-Thames, aged just 53.
