Baby roo doesnt like being woken

We are two British backpackers working on a farm in St George, Queensland (June, 2016), to complete our 88 days for our second WHV in Australia. We were moving cattle from one paddock to another when a cow spotted a Roo trapped in a fence. It's legs were broken due to it struggling to get free. When we approached a Joey popped out from the mothers pouch and clung straight onto my girlfriends ankle. My girlfriend took the Joey back to the farmhouse, i stayed and spent 30 minutes trying to get the roo free, eventually i did however it was going nowhere, long story short it didn't make it.
We looked after the Joey for a few days before taking him into town to a vet where they took him in. These videos were taken in the same day he was rescued. We named him Rupert... the roo
